Custom Commission Process
At Woodeye Furniture, I understand that every client is unique, and every project requires a tailored approach. For one-off commissions, I take a collaborative and personalised approach to ensure that your vision is brought to life.
Here’s how I work:
- Initial Consultation: We’ll meet in person to discuss your ideas, share inspiration, and get a sense of what you’re looking for in your custom wooden desk or furniture commission. I’ll take precise measurements and note down all the details.
- Design Concepts: After our meeting, I’ll create 2D and 3D design concepts on computer-aided design (CAD) software, which I’ll share with you via email. This allows us to refine the design together, ensuring it meets your needs and exceeds your expectations.
- Initial Design Fee: Please note that (depending on your project) there may be a fee for the initial design concepts, which will be deducted from the final cost of the project.
- Design Refinement: We’ll work together to fine-tune the design until you’re completely satisfied with the final concept.
- Quotation and Deposit: Once the design is finalised, I’ll provide a detailed quotation for the project, including materials, labor, and timeline. A 50% deposit will be required to secure the commission, covering the cost of materials and preparation.
- Project Completion: The balance will be due upon completion of the project, when you can collect or arrange delivery of your new piece of furniture.
Throughout the process, I’ll keep you updated on progress, and you’ll have direct access to me via phone or email should you have any questions or concerns.
